Ridden by Rob Heijligers, Knegt’s Icelos Eickenrode qualified for the Longines FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken. The Dakar VDL-son left quite an impression during these National Championships. Two clear days brought the combination to the final, in which they reached the jump-off once more. A fault withheld the two from a higher placement, but a 7th position and a ticket to the world championships in Lanaken is a tremendous end result.
We have bred Icelos out of Eline H (Indoctro x Corrado I) and sold him as a foal via the Dutch Top Foals auction to family Van Eerd of Stal Knegt. Wednesday September 4th, another foal will be auctioned: Octavus Eickenrode (Harley VDL out of Boracific VDL elite sport prest by Indorado). His half brother Icarius Eickenrode (Zirocco Blue VDL) was also in the final today and came very close to obtaining a ticket to Lanaken as well.
