Gladius Eickenrode

Gladius Eickenrode has good, spacious gaits with an excellent canter and seems to have a lot of potential for the higher jumping sport. Gladius is PROK approved, carries the star predicate and successfully made his debut in the international ring for 6-year-olds in the outdoor season of 2017. In October 2017 Gladius Eickenrode was sold to an extremely professional stable that is involved in the purchase, sale and mediation of showjumpers in the high segment for the international market, especially the USA. In 2018 Gladius made the crossing to the United States and has already achieved impressive results in the 1.35m class under his new rider.

Harley VDL

Gladius Eickenrode’s sire is Harley VDL, whose pedigree combines sport and breeding to the fullest. The sire line consists of three international show jumpers in a row, namely Heartbreaker, Carthago and Caletto I. They are also sires of many international show jumpers and approved stallions, including Toulon, Mylord Carthago, Countess G and Cantus. Dam Larthago won many 1.40m and 1.50m courses. In addition to Harley VDL, she produced the AES approved and 1.50m jumping Cevin Z, the 1.45m Zangersheide approved Dimitri, the 1.60m jumping Soren Z, the KWPN approved Casago ridden by Piergiorgio Bucci and many more showjumpers who are active at a high level. From the half-sister of Harley’s mother comes the Zangersheide approved Caritano Z.

Harley VDL jumps with a lot of effort, impulsion and technique. This also applies to his descendants. Son Harmony was approved by the NRPS. Harley seems to be breaking through as a supplier of promising show jumpers
